This is pure, fresh Barbera from a small planting around Castelnuovo Belbo (to the east of Asti). Fermented in stainless steel, this wine retains bright morello cherry notes alongside a floral lift without the sweet sap notes that can sometimes typify this grape. A great wine to pair with our pork dishes or cold cuts.
The ProducerBased in Italy's Piedmont region, the Cossetti family is a fourth-generation winemaker with daughter Clementina recently taking the helm. Though they have a relatively small holding, there's great depth to their offer with both extremely rare varietals and very old vines on offer.
The Q Wine ProjectWhilst the idea of a 'house branded' wine is nothing new, we wanted to take things a step further at The Quality Chop House by selecting bottlings from small, independent wineries where we can have a direct relationship with the winemaker.
These are wines that we have selected to complement our food whilst bringing a bit more interest and complexity than you might traditionally expect from a house brand wine.
The Quality Chop House Shop
The Quality Chop House first opened its doors in 1869 and - to this day - continues to serve its community with fine British fare.
Our shop (located next door) opened in 2013. We deal in comfort food; from crispy confit potatoes to decadent beef mince and crust-crumbling pork pies, as well as a broad range of the freshest seasonal vegetables, artisan cheeses and store cupboard essentials.
We are open 7 days a week for all of the above as well as bread from our kitchens and meat from our whole-carcass butchery. You can also choose from over 100 wines curated by our sister wine bar Quality Wines.
If you can’t make it to us, we can come to you. Our hampers and shop classics can be ordered below and delivered.
