This is our pick for an all-around great red meat wine. Local grape Tannat provides wonderful soft tannins lifted by flashy Cabernet Sauvignon with rich notes of Kirch and blackcurrant coming from a healthy dash of Merlot.
Chateau Laballe, located in France's Gascony region, was founded in 1820 by the Laudet family who continues to own the property to this day. Traditionally more focused on Armagnac production, they started producing still white wines in the 1970's after Noel Laudet returned from working at the famed Chateau Beycheyville.
Since 2007, current proprietor Cyril Naudet has begun to offer a red and rose wine to complement their outstanding white.

Whilst the idea of a 'house branded' wine is nothing new, we wanted to take things a step further at The Quality Chop House by selecting bottlings from small, independent wineries where we can have a direct relationship with the winemaker.
These are wines that we have selected to complement our food whilst bringing a bit more interest and complexity than you might traditionally expect from a house brand wine.
