We found these lots at an auction and couldn't resist. All the reds have fantastic age and just perfect for drinking now. Fanny Sabre's white is there to kick things off.

The Bottles

Moreau-Naudet, Vaillons, 1er Cru Chablis 2016

From a trail-blazer now, sadly passed. Vaillons provides a lovely richness to classic Chablis notes of oyster shell and citrus rind.

Grape: Chardonnay

Domaine Chanson, Haut Marconnets, 1er Cru Savigny Les Beaunes 2011

Another from one of our favourite producers who always seems to punch above their weight. Super elegant and rewarded by a few years in bottle.

Grape: Chardonnay

Fanny Sabre, Bourgogne Blanc 2018

A new type of winemaker in Burgundy, perhaps taking some (but not too many!) cues from the natural wine world, Fanny Sabre has rapidly become one of our favourites.

Grape: Chardonnay

Domaine Daniel Rion & Fils, Nuits-st-Georges 2010

We have had this on by the glass at Emilia and one glass often leads to two... A wine which will remind you of the endless appeal of red Burgundy being both immediately rewarding and worthy of lengthy contemplation and analysis.

Grape: Pinot Noir

Domaine Chanson, Clos des Marconnets, Beaune 1er Cru 2011

Totally charming like all the great Beaune reds, this is slightly lighter than you might expect but no less subtle or rewarding for it. Delightful sour cherry fruit which has benefitted from a bit of ageing.

Grape: Pinot Noir

Jean Javillier, Volnay 2012

Bright, Christmas spice Volnay from a producer proudly rooted in tradition. This will not let you down if Volnay is your thing.
